Battery Awareness...

My friend/hairstylist from our old ward is raising awareness on children and the dangers in household batteries.

They have not had it easy. She had a terrible pregnancy and had to be put on bed rest at 13 weeks (with an 18 month old toddler) she gave birth at 28 weeks. You can read his full story here. Little Emmett was in the hospital for months and had to undergo several surgeries due to his premature birth. Things were looking up for his health and they were beginning to lead a normal life. Then, around his first birthday they discovered their babies life was at risk - completely unrelated to his previous health conditions. Read here.

After about 5 months in ICU @ Phoenix Children's Hospital they have their little boy back. They are now sharing his story in hopes of preventing this danger to so many children. Go Emmett go!

This is so scary. When Bella was about a year, she put one of those batteries up her nose. Thankfully, it got stuck not too far up and we were able to get it out quickly. But it freaked me out and we scoured the house for all batteries this size. Thanks for the reminder.
