Delivery Day

Arrived at the hospital @ 6am with "contractions"
Dilated to a 3
Walked and stair-climbed the hospital for an hour to try and start active labor
Dilated to a 4
Call in to Dr for permission to induce labor

It's a go!

Must have meds for strep B before induction

Induction started at 12:30pm

Gotta love epidurals

Broke water at 3pm

Stuck at a 5 for some time
Time to break out the peanut ball to get things moving.
It worked

Contractions became more intense

Upped the epidural drip and feeling good just in time

Started pushing at 6:30pm

Chris likes to watch the t.v. to avoid accidentally looking at something he doesn't want to see.

30 minutes of pushing and out pops this big boy

Ashton Christopher Ray
July 21st 2011
7:00pm
8lbs. 9.2oz 20in.

After seeing we got our boy the next thing I noticed were his long toes. :)

Chris says I'm a wimp in a lot of areas...
"When it comes to pushing babies out, you're a champ."

I'll take that compliment.

Happy new parents

Due to meconium the nurses took him right away

He's perfectly healthy

Proud Daddy
He's a lunker

Precious hands

Love this face

I finally get to hold my little man

I would do it all over again for this little guy

I did it!

Showing off pictures of the very first Ray grandson

The girls meet Ashton for the first time. They aren't sure what to think.

Not ready to touch him yet.

Our family is complete.

Loved reading about this special day. What a beautiful family made all the better by that sweet baby boy.

P.S. You still look hot during labor!
